What is Custom Button

Buttons are the simplest fasteners used today. If buyers supply working sheets , the style number or article number, size, quantity and color of the buttons to be used will appear on the working sheets. However the actual shapes and colors have to be specified by samples.

Metal buttons or buttons made of leather tend to be expensive and therefore plastic buttons are often specified. Metal-coaled buttons and leather-imitation buttons offer similar effects but cost much less. Normal colored buttons are cheaper than those with special colors, such as pearlescent or colors with marble grains.

Buttons in special shapes will need special moulds or dies. If the Garment Contract specifies a large quantity, the cost of producing the mould for them may be negligible. However, if the quantity is very small, the cost of each button would be significant. As a garment supplier, patient negotiation with your counterpart to agree a specification can invariably find a mutually beneficial solution. The buyer might be persuaded to increase the quantity within the garment orders , or replace the button , or accept higher garment prices.

Attention must be paid to specification for the buttons and the available Clothing Manufacturing technology. Some clothing factories have button sewing machines for two-hole or four-hole buttons but they might not have the machines for shank buttons; some factories may have straight buttonhole machines but they might not have an eyelet buttonhole machine. For wrapped-around buttons , the shell fabrics will be used to make the buttons. 

However, for some types of fabrics , the color shading might not be properly controlled; therefore the feasibilities of using the wrapped-around buttons with such fabrics must be taken into consideration. Furthermore , buttons on the outside of a garment generally need one substitute button or spare button , and even if it is not specified, it should always be confirmed with the buyer whether or not the substitute button is necessary.
